Recalling the day
Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, a group of 19 terrorists from the terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial planes filled with passengers. Two of the planes were crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, one was flown into the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., and the fourth was crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to take control of the plane from the terrorists. Close to 3,000 people lost their lives in the attacks.
