Preventative measures for SIDS
Taking proper care of children is one of the most important jobs that a parent can do.
One thing that parents should do is lower their baby’s risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), the sudden, unexplained death of a child under the age of 1. This is often called “crib death,” but SIDS is not caused by cribs. Although the exact cause of SIDS is unknown, parents can take certain measures to lower the risk.
