Pafford launches AirOne helicopter
“Our goal is to take a trauma patient and have them at a tertiary care center within an hour and the only way to do that is to have a helicopter that is positioned in the area that is not covered,” Keith Carter, Pafford Critical Operating Director, said. “We can accomplish that hour goal.”
The helicopter will be stationed at the Ruston Airport and will respond within a 100-mile radius of Ruston and Monroe.
Currently, the nearest helicopter is LifeAir, based in Shreveport.
Carter said the helicopter, which can travel up to 125 mph, will greatly decrease the time to distance ratio.
