Hoffman, Akin exchange vows
Anna Kathryn Hoffman and Jacob Andrew Akin were married in a 2 p.m. ceremony April 9 at Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. The wedding was officiated by Dr. J. Dowell Loftis.
Anna is the daughter of Chuck and Sandra Hoffman, of San Antonio. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Estes and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoffman, both of Ruston.
Jacob is the son of Dan and Michele Akin, of San Antonio. He is the grandson of Catherine Jane Browne and the late Dr. Robert Browne and Francine Akin and the late William Carroll Akin.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory Amsale A-line silk duchess satin gown designed with a delicate crumb-catcher back and chapel train.
The empire waist was accented with a butter colored sash adorned with a vintage inspired broach. She wore a fingertip ethereal, ribbon edged veil. The bride carried a bouquet of Akito roses and calla lilies. It was hand tied with ivory satin ribbon and the lace from her mother’s bridal bouquet secured with her great-grandmother’s broach.
The bride’s sisters Elizabeth, Sara and Kathleen Hoffman, and childhood friend, Meredith Weaver, served as bridesmaids. They wore black silk chiffon knee-length dresses and carried hand tied bouquets of lavender and ivory roses.
Craig Akin, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Reed Rogers, Matthew Chambers and James Story. They also served as ushers.
Preston Engelland served as ring bearer for the wedding.
Guest book attendants were Lydia Willars and Dale Conover.
Flutist Sara Hoffman and pianist Lou Cabaza provided music.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Shearer Hills Baptist Church in the reception hall.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held April 8 at Silo Elevated Cuisine.
The wedding party and out of town guests attended.
The couple honeymooned in Kona, Hawaii.
