Blanco vetoes cable franchise bill
At Tuesday evening’s Lincoln Parish Police Jury meeting, some jurors expressed concern that the bill would be signed by Blanco.
“We stand to lose $10,000 - $15,000 if the bill is signed,” Juror Joyce Huntington said. “Our local legislators know how we feel, yet they all supported it.”
Rep. Hollis Downs, R-Ruston, said he supported the bill because he felt it would give those in rural areas a better chance at getting high-speed Internet and cable services.
