Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Jim Tuten was one of 14 police officers from five different agencies recently recognized for their work to cut down on drug dealing and illegal weapons arrests.

Stephanie A. Finley, Western District of Louisiana U.S. attorney, said that since 2003, agencies in the Ruston and Monroe areas, along with the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, have been awarded $338,673.35 in grant monies to assist in targeting drug trafficking and gun violence in the area.
