WACO, Texas — Louisiana Tech junior Anthony Plourde led Louisiana Tech Friday morning as the Bulldogs competed at the NCAA South Central Regional cross country meet on the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas.
Plourde ran 33:01.8 in the 10,000-meter race to lead a group of four Bulldog runners that competed at the regional meet, placing 85th out of over 140 runners. The meet marked the first time this season Plourde has ran the top time of Tech’s runners.
Junior Taylor Ashton followed as he finished 90th, running 33:07.1.
Louisiana Tech and The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame will jointly honor Willie Roaf with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute, presented by Fidelity Investments, at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ruston during the game between Louisiana Tech and UTSA.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Louisiana Tech erased a seven-run deficit and held a one-run lead over the University of Alabama-Birmingham after eight and a half innings of play Saturday, but the Blazers scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to complete a 10-8 comeback win over the Bulldogs at Regions Field in Birmingham.
With the win, UAB clinched the series victory over Tech with two wins in the first two games. The series finale is set for 1 p.m. today in Birmingham.
