Infielder Chris Wolfe of Grambling State University ranked high in five different departments of the NCAA’s final baseball statistical report for the 2011 seson. The Houston native had his highest ranking in runs scored per game, where his 1.15 mark wound up at No. 12.

GRAMBLING — If triples are arguably the most exciting hit in baseball, then Grambling State University certainly did its part to make the 2011 season exciting for its fans.

In the final NCAA statistical report released for Division I programs earlier this week, the Tigers ranked No. 1 in two different departments for three-base hits.

Grambling had more triples (36) than any of the 292 teams included in the report, plus had the best average (0.73) per contest for that category.
