SUBJECT: Committee Report
The Facility Security Study Committee of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury met in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Lincoln Parish Courthouse, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Present were: Roy Glover, Kip Franklin, John Holloway, Chad Alexander, Andy Shealy, Linda Cook, and Pam Dance, representing the Judge’s Office.
Absent: None
Parish Administrator Courtney Hall called the meeting to order and delivered the invocation. Linda Cook made a motion, seconded by Roy Glover, to approve the Agenda. The motion carried with the following votes:
YEAS: Roy Glover, Kip Franklin, John Holloway, Chad Alexander, Andy Shealy, Linda Cook, and Pam Dance
NAYS: None
Homeland Security Director Kip Franklin briefed the committee on security projects that had already been completed. Mr. Franklin then presented a Phase One Facility Security Plan which includes various security and controlled access projects for the Tax Collector and Sheriff’s Office Lobby, Courthouse Annex, and Piney Hills Advocacy Center. Total estimated cost of the plan is approximately $42,800.00 with Homeland Security Grant Funding to provide approximately $33,800.00. Mr. Franklin also informed the Committee that he plans to request additional funds from the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security for future security projects. The remaining funds would come from the Lincoln Parish Police Jury Courthouse Capital Fund. Following discussion, Andy Shealy made a motion, seconded by Roy Glover, to recommend to the Police Jury that these facility security projects be implemented and funded. There being no other business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
