DeGrie, Killeen marry in May
Elizabeth Ruth-Anne DeGrie, of Pineville, and Nathan Daniel Killeen, of New Orleans, were married in a 3 p.m. ceremony May 21 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Pineville.
The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Sherwood Hawthorne.
The bride is the daughter of Earl and Sharon Douzart, of Pineville. She is the granddaughter of Donnie Sober, of Pineville, and the late Ruth Sober.
The groom is the son of Joan Killeen, of Metairie, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Killeen Jr., of Mandeville. He is the grandson of Claire Killeen, of Covington, the late Walter Killeen Sr., the late Warren Merrihew and the late Madeleine Merrihew.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a satin halter ballgown with a pick-up skirt and a sweeping train. The look was completed with an apple pleated bridal sash, a tiara featuring apple gemstones and a fingertip-length veil with apple trim and beaded accents.
Elizabeth carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses, red tulips and white baby’s breath.
Serving as the maid of honor was Lou-Anne Williams, of Bossier City. Serving as matron of honor was Jessica Pullin, of Ruston. Bridesmaids were Danielle Sober, of Pineville, and Breanna Sober, of Pineville.
They each wore a short black strapless pick-up dress with a white sash and a black flower accent. They carried hand-tied bouquets of red roses.
Angelle Dell, of Pearlington, Miss., served as flower girl. She wore an apple ballgown with a pick-up skirt and a black sash.
Christopher Bradford, of New Orleans, served as the best man for the ceremony. Jimmy Pullin, of Ruston, Daniel Cloud, of Olla, and Jared Suggs, of Jena, served as groomsmen for the ceremony. Jacob Pollard, of Centerpoint, was the ring bearer.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held for the couple at Willowbench Meeting Place in Pineville.
A rehearsal dinner was held in the couple’s honor on May 20 and was hosted by the groom’s parents.
Prior to the wedding ceremony, several showers were held for the couple.
On Feb. 26, a bridal shower was held at the home of Gilbert and Jane Jones, of Pineville. Hostesses were Jane Jones and Jessica Pullin.
A family bridal shower was held at the Kees Park Community Center in Pineville on May 1. Hostesses were family and friends of the bride.
A joint bridal shower was held alongside Jessica Darden on May 5 at the Ruston Daily Leader. Co-workers and friends of the Daily Leader hosted the shower.
After a brief honeymoon, the couple resides in Ruston.
