DENTON, Texas — Louisiana Tech could not keep up with the Mean Green for the second time this season as the Lady Techsters fell to North Texas, 3-0 (18-25, 22-25, 14-25), Friday night at the North Texas Volleyball Center in Denton, Texas.
Tech dropped to 7-13 on the season with a 1-6 record in Conference USA play, while North Texas improved to 14-8 overall and a 6-1 mark in league matches.
Traditionally, the tennis tournament held in conjunction with the Louisiana Peach Festival has a large turnout.
It was no different this time, as 104 participants took part in the 2013 edition that was held at the Louisiana Tech University courts last weekend.
Directed by Lynne Jones, the tourney featured competition in nine different divisions: mixed doubles 5.5, mixed doubles 6.0-6.5, mixed doubles 7.5, women’s doubles 6.5 and below, women’s doubles 7.0, women’s doubles 7.0 and above, men’s doubles 6.5 and below, men’s doubles 7.0-8.0 and men’s open.
