Funeral Services for Mrs. Loie Dillard Stigall, age 93, of Ruston, will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Byargeon, with a private family committal to follow at Sardis Cemetery near Farmerville. Mrs. Stigall was born in Farmerville, LA on June 15, 1917, and passed away in Ruston, LA on June 7, 2011. She was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher as well as active in other ministries of the church. She quilted, gardened, enjoyed cooking, and dearly loved her family and friends. Mrs. Stigall was an elementary school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Marion “Top” Stigall. Mrs. Stigall is survived by her son: Dr. Jack Stigall (Norma) of Alexandria, LA; and her daughter: Paige Melton (Bill) of Carrollton, TX: grandchildren: John Stigall (Catherine), Dan Stigall (Liz), Will Melton (Shelley), and Caroline Pearce (Darren); great grandchildren: John II, Will, Nick, Madeleine, and Evan; and precious nieces and nephews. The Stigall family is especially thankful for the loving care given to Loie by Betty Brownfield, Betty Williams, and Katheryn Baker. Other expressions of appreciation are given to each of the special people who showed love and compassion to her. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, from 5 – 7 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston and on Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 9A.M. till time of service at the church.
