Area football teams are asking their fans to butt into their seasons this year — as in put their butts into stadium seats.
Football tickets are now on sale for the upcoming football seasons, which begin Saturday for Louisiana Tech and Grambling State and on Sept. 6 for area high school teams.

When Rodney Alexander resigned as representative from the Lincoln Parish-inclusive 5th Congressional District, he set in motion something that hasn’t happened around here since the seat last century: a specially called federal election to fill a U.S. House seat.
Though election day isn’t until Oct. 19, voters can begin deciding who will fill the just more than one year remaining in Alexander’s term when early voting begins Saturday.

Starting at midnight Friday, and running through 11:59 p.m. Saturday, there will be a sales tax holiday during which time the state will not charge any state sales tax — which is 4 percent in Louisiana — to help customers save money on all types of purchases.
