To help provide care and support that reflect the important contributions made by these men and women, Professional Hospice Care has become a national partner of “We Honor Veterans,” a pioneering campaign developed by National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Ruston residents Jo and Norm Carter enjoy pancakes during today’s 64th annual Kiwanis Pancake Day at the Civic Center. The fundraiser began with breakfast this morning and continues from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 and are available at the door.
A Ruston doctor and his former nurse practitioner are free on bail today after being arrested Friday on a combined 142 counts of unlawful prescribing of narcotics.
Richard I. Ballard, 59, an orthopedist a Green Clinic, and William G. Rasberry, 42, a nurse practitioner who worked for Ballard at the clinic, were arrested by Louisiana State Police as part of an investigation that began in late 2015.
Ballard, of Ruston, is charged with 51 counts of writing numerous prescriptions for pain medication to several people, including Rasberry.
