If the old adage that says “when it rains, it pours” is true, then followers of the Grambling State University athletics’ program may been fell like it’s been flooding since September.
This has been one tough, difficult and patience-testing school year for Tiger Nation.
I know I’ve never seen anything like it in the 40-plus seasons of covering the school’s sports teams. Never.
Quite a number of years ago, as the New Year’s holiday approached, one of my children overheard a conversation among some adults. The topic was the type or number of resolutions that we might — or might not — adopt.
I had no idea that my son was listening, so I was mildly surprised when he asked me later: “Daddy, what is a New Year’s revolution?” I asked him to repeat the question, and again he said “revolution.” My first reaction was to correct the misstated word, but upon reflection I decided it was not so important. It later occurred to me that the malapropism was actually not so inaccurate.
