Much is said about how art shows, such as the one currently running at the Bank of Ruston, benefit the community, but Patricia Tait Jones, who has been included in the art show numerous times over the years, said they also strongly benefit local artists.
Jones’ relationship with the show began because she was already friends with Benny Denny, former president of what was then called the Ruston Building and Loan.
A 90-year-old woman remains in the hospital following an attack by two dogs last month.
Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Maj. Stephen Williams said Evelyn Goers, 90, of Simsboro, suffered what appeared to be critical injuries when she was attacked by two Tibetan Mastiffs on May 21.
“Ms. Goers suffered numerous bites and scrapes and was transported to the Northern Louisiana Medical Center where she is being treated,” Williams said. “The dogs were family pets and were unfamiliar with Ms. Goers due to her living out of town.”
