Teens feed hunger for food knowledge
This is one lesson two Ruston High School students have swallowed in the school’s ProStart cooking class.
“I’ve learned creating a meal for a restaurant is far different than at home,” RHS junior Amy Barr said. “There’s sanitation and you have to do everything properly. It must look pleasing to the eye.”
Barr, accompanied by fellow cooking class student Jake Pierce, will carry her newfound knowledge to the statewide 5th Annual LRA ProStart Leadership Competition in Baton Rouge on Thursday.
