Memorial services for Ms. Cathy James Shelton, 54, will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Turrentine- Jackson-Morrow in McKinney, Texas and at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Gum Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Farmerville, La.
Ms. Shelton was born on December 30, 1956 in San Francisco, California and departed this life on October 26, 2011. Ms. Shelton was a graduate of the Ruston High School Class of 1974 and the Grambling State University Class of 1979. Ms. Shelton was employed with Dunn & Bradstreet.

John Ryland Harlow Jr. passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011 after a brief illness. He was 71. He was a devoted husband, father, and poppa, and was loved and cherished dearly by his family and friends.
Funeral Services will held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Bernice United Methodist Church at 10a.m. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 5pm until 8pm at Bernice United Methodist Church in Bernice, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Johnny Adkins and Rev. J. Roddy Taylor. Interment will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, LA.

William Curtis Walker, age 88, died Tuesday morning in Abilene. He had been experiencing health problems for several months, finally succumbing to complications from pneumonia.
Mr. Walker lived in Abilene for the past twenty-six years, along with his current wife, Beverly Osborne Walker. He moved to Abilene when he retired from Pennzoil. He spent his adult life working in the oil industry and retired as a geophysicist.

Funeral services for retired Grambling State University administrator Dr. Allen Williams will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at New Rocky Valley Baptist Church in Grambling. He died Thursday, Oct. 27 following a lengthy illness.
Dr. Williams came to Grambling College in 1952 and graduated four years later with a degree in Speech and Drama.
He retired as Professor Emeritus of Theatre from Grambling State University in 2004.

A graveside service for Mary Olene Tanner, age 86, will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Douglas Cemetery in Douglas, LA. Officiating the service will be Bro. Greg Tipton under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.
Mary was born on May, 23, 1925 in Elk City, OK and passed away on October 28, 2011 in Ruston, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Dillard Tanner and a step-daughter, Janice Sibley.

Funeral services for Charles “Griffin” Chandler, 28 of Farmerville, LA., will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Whitman and Rev. Scott Jennings. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Griffin was born on February 28, 1983 in Leland, MS., and passed away on October 27, 2011 in Ruston, LA.
