Funeral Services for Betty Lou Johnston, 78 of Willis, TX, formally of Ruston will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 9, 2015 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Staples officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date.Mrs. Johnston was born in Monroe, LA to Travis Troy Sanders and Allie Mae Sutton Sanders. She died November 5, 2015 in Conroe, TX. Betty loved reading, playing cards and she enjoyed eating at Sonic. She will be greatly missed by her dog Penny.

Burnelle Wall Brantley, 84, of Ruston passed away peacefully on November 1, 2015. She was born on August 3, 1931 in Logansport, Louisiana but spent the majority of her life as a resident of Ruston, Louisiana. The family will celebrate her life with visitation on Thursday, Nov. 5th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and a private graveside service on Friday morning. She is preceded in death by her parents, Burr Wall and Bessie T. Wall, and her brother Edwin N. Wall. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Thomas E. Brantley; son, Dr. Thomas L.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred May, 85, of Ruston will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Interment will follow at Cook Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. May was born December 12, 1929 and passed away November 1, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband Ed. May.

A memorial service for Dr. C. Wade Meade of Tyler, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2015, in the University Center Theatre at LSU Shreveport. Cremation will be under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home of Tyler. Dr. Meade was born near Dripping Springs, Texas. He grew up in Pollock, Louisiana. He received a BS in Geology from the University of Texas and an MS and PHD in History from Louisiana Tech University.

Funeral services for Bro. Coy E. Upshaw, 91, will be held at 10:30am Friday, October 30, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Dr. Connie E. Ward, Bro. Neil Everett and Bro. Marcel McGee officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Union Cemetery, near Spearsville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.Bro. Upshaw, a retired businessman and minister, went to his heavenly home October 28, 2015. Bro. Upshaw was a member of Mt. Union Baptist Church but served as minister in the local churches for 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. Bro.

Bobby Lytle, of Snow Hill, N.C. passed peacefully on October 19, 2015, to go with the Lord. He was 68 years old. He was a 22-year Veteran of the Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War and receiving multiple awards and ribbons. Bobby leaves behind three children, Richard, Kimberly, and Dawn. His grandchildren are Brandon, Isabelle, Christian, Charity, and Karalina. His nieces and other family members are Tania, Tammy, Michael, and Cady. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, at Pollock~Best Funeral Home in New Bern, N.C. Funeral services were at 9 a.m.

Shreveport, LA - Reba Kathleen Neel, Ph.D. passed away on Friday October 23 at Live Oak Retirement Center following a lengthy illness. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00p.m in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. Officiating will be The Rev. Andrew Comeaux, director of Spiritual Services, Willis Knighton Health System. Dr. Neel was a native of Converse, LA. and a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral.

Mattie Inez Kelley passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the age of 87. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bernice, LA. Interment will follow in Mt. Patrick Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop, LA. The family will receive friends Friday, October 23, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Janice Reynolds Sellers Summerville, 68, of El Dorado, AR; died on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock, AR following a lengthy illness. Born November 26, 1946 in Smackover, she was the daughter of Jimmie O. and Lorene Short Reynolds. She had been a security guard for Wal-mart and was of the Baptist faith. Janice enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with fishing, gardening and canning. Preceding her in death along with her father were her grandparents, Josie and Sam Short and Anna and Oris Reynolds.
