Coach reclaims record in wake of Penn State scandal
POGUE.jpg

GRAMBLING — Grambling State University’s most famous name has returned to prominence in the NCAA football record book.
The late Eddie Robinson regained the No. 1 position among college football’s all-time victory leaders for Division I Monday with the NCAA’s harsh sanctions in the Penn State University sex abuse scandal.
Robinson’s 408 career wins over a 57-year period had ranked at the top before last November, when the late Joe Paterno gained victory No. 409 with a 10-7 finale over Illinois at Beaver Stadium.
