An increased budget deficit, reapportionment and the purchase of land will be on the agenda for the Lincoln Parish School Board’s monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the School Board Room at 410 S. Farmerville St.

Not all dogs are man’s best friend

Lincoln Parish is filled with dogs, and not all of them are friendly.
This can be reflected in the complaints of residents who say they have been attacked by man’s best friend.
Because of community concerns, members of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury approved an ordinance in 2010 that prohibits vicious dogs from roaming free throughout the parish.

MONROE — Jamie Mayo has a predicament when Grambling State University and the University of Louisiana-Monroe meet on the football field on Sept. 20.
“My wife and I both went to ULM,” said the Monroe mayor here Friday afternoon. “Our two daughters, when one was six and the other nine, both said they were going to Grambling.
“So our family will be rooting for different sides, although I love both of these schools and am looking forward to seeing them play on the gridiron again this fall.”
