Creek students donate 380 lb. of dog food to 4 PAWS Rescue

The Cedar Creek chapter of the National Junior Honor Society presented 4 PAWS, a local animal rescue center, with about 380 pounds of dog food as a Christmas gift.

Ministry offers support on spiritual journey

“The purpose of everything we do is to restore the soul, to have the opportunity to reconcile with God, themselves and neighbors,” Brewton said. “We want to fabricate a community.”
She said there are three main things the organization wants to do in the community.
“We want to offer spiritual formation, which is an offering for people to come and be open to God’s movement in their souls,” Brewton said. “We want to help people to deepen their inner-life with God, and we want to help those people who don’t know God to come to know him.”

Grambling youth adopt a cemetery

Members of Grambling State University’s Black Empowerment Apprenticeship Program spent their time cleaning burial sites Tuesday as part of the Adopt a Burial Site Project. These activities are ongoing throughout the year.

Suspect booked for arson

Structure fire was in June

A Ruston man was arrested Tuesday and faces arson charges stemming from a fire in June.
Danny Wayne Moss, 27, of 167 N. Chatham Road No. 206, faces charges of simple arson and arson with intent to defraud.

Senior post player and Class 4A Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-State candidate Byronesha Santiago has helped Ruston High’s girls have one of the best starts in the program’s history. She has helped shoot the Lady Bearcats to a 13-2 record, which includes a recent 11-game winning streak. Ruston will take a Christmas holiday break before resuming action Monday through Dec. 30 at the Bossier City Airline High tournament.
