A $15K salary for Choudrant mayor?

A proposed ordinance to provide Choudrant Mayor Bill Sanderson with a salary will be a matter of discussion at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Choudrant Town Hall. Village clerk Celeste Butler said a yearly salary of $15,000 will be up for review.

A look back at stories from 2010

At this time, while many look ahead to the new year, some of us also reflect on the year that has come to a close. One of the best ways for me to look back is through my writing. Life as a reporter is hardly dull. Sure, there are slow days spent on routine tasks, but there are often interesting stories to uncover and new people to get to know.

Tech wildlife professor makes big splash

I don’t recall exactly how the conversation led to the former Baltimore Colts, but as I was talking with a supporting member of our outdoor writer’s group at annual conference several years ago, the lady from Baltimore mentioned her favorite Colts player, Bert Jones. Knowing I was from Louisiana, she wondered what I might know about her hero.

Mental toughness is chief topic at Tech seminar

Spencer Wood, president of Icebox Athlete, recently spoke with Louisiana Tech student-athletes and coaches on the importance of mental toughness in collegiate athletics at the Wyly Tower auditorium.
Wood is a premier provider of mental skills and toughness training that championship programs, coaches and student-athletes across the United States have used with distinction, including recent workshops with athletic departments and leading teams in the ACC, SEC, Big East, Big Ten and Big 12 Conferences.
