‘Rob’ Museum evolves

Sailor Jackson, director of Museum Audio, Video and Film for the Secretary of State’s office, attended a meeting with Zac Construction Wednesday and said he was pleased with what he saw and heard.
“They’re moving right on schedule,” Jackson said. “A lot of the metal framing is up and they’re going to start doing the electrical wiring next week.”
Jackson said the building’s foundation was recently reinforced, which has helped pick up the construction pace.

Community’s support plays big role

The need is unquestionably there — so many workers losing their jobs simultaneously would be a huge blow to the region, and so many farmers losing their source of income
would have been a blow just as painful.
The state has fought to find interested parties to buy the plant from Pilgrim’s Pride, sending offers back and forth, upping its ante of support for the plan. There is no sense that the state is slacking or letting the situation unfold idly, and we are forever thankful for the concern.

Techsters smack SMU, 77-54

Then, presto, the Johnson-Dowdell duo took over and the next thing you knew, the Techsters (21-11) were all but readying for a Tuesday night road trip to Normal, Ill., to take on Illinois State (24-7) in a second-round contest.
OK, maybe that is jumping ahead just a bit and putting the Techsters in the driver’s seat with still a second half to be played against the Mustangs (20-13), but it all but turned out just that way.

Techsters to play SMU

She and other Techsters’ fans will get that opportunity tonight when the Lady Techsters (20-12, 12-4) will take on SMU (20-11, 12-4) in a first-round Women’s National Invitation Tournament game at the Thomas Assembly Center starting at 7 p.m.
It will mark the first national postseason appearance by the Lady Techsters since the 2005-06 season, when the then Western Athletic Conference champions participated in the NCAA playoffs.
