It’s Coach Dooley’s moment

“We have to increase revenue in all areas,” Dooley said to the crowd of media, officials and onlookers gathered Thursday. “And we have to develop new streams of revenue.”
He said achieving his goals will require more than a roadmap.
“We need sound judgment in hiring and budget-setting,” he said. “And we have to have an aggressive push for upgrades to facilities.”
James Liberatos, dean of the college of applied and natural sciences at Tech and chairman of the Athletics Council, likened it to his job as a dean.

Dooley eager for challenges

“This is more than just one person involved in guiding our athletic program,” Dooley said. “It will take the entire Tech family embracing where we want to go.
“It is going to take a little bit of commitment from everyone. It will take a collective effort from everyone who loves Louisiana Tech and who wants to see it succeed at the highest level possible and to have it moving in the right direction.”

Dooley needs strong staff in his new role

Dooley will need a strong team of motivated and dedicated people he can rely on.
The directors of Louisiana Tech athletics have shown their confidence in Dooley and his staff by making this recent move. The coach has impressed everyone from fans to administrators to players, and it looks like he’s here to stay — at least for a while.
The people in place to provide the support he will need should rally around him from day one so no detail goes unnoticed.

Digital advances aid hearing

The easiest way to explain what digital technology does for hearing aids is to compare it to something you might be more familiar with, like digital media you can see, such as a digital video disk (DVD). If you compare one of your favorite movies side by side — one on DVD and one on a cassette you would play in your VCR — you can see some very distinct differences. The DVD has a much sharper image, the colors are brighter, the contrasts are crisp, and the picture just looks better.

Dooley named Tech AD

He is also the first athletic director/head football coach at Tech since Albert Lawrence Williams served in those capacities during the mid-1980s.
The appointment, effective June 30 when Jim Oakes’ 13-year stay as athletic director concludes, is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System and Board of Regents.
Tech is also expected to announce in upcoming weeks the hiring of an individual whose responsibilities will cover day-to-day, basic operations within the athletic department while working in conjunction with the new AD.
