Bearcats host No. 3 ranked foe

To reach Lafayette and the Cajundome — that’s the host facility for the week-long hoops’ fest — the Bearcats (31-6) will have to get past East Ascension in a quarterfinal round showdown here tonight.

Jindal praises local lawmakers

Gallot and Kostelka each chaired powerful committees that spearheaded the ethics reform effort in the state legislature during the session, Gallot on the House side and Kostelka in the Senate.
“They heard dozens of bills,” Jindal said. “But we had to be ambitious; we had to be aggressive. It’s not enough to move from 50th to 49th.”
The ethics reform agenda was not just about moving those rankings in indexes like that of the Better Government Association and the Center for Public Integrity, Jindal said, it was about making opportunities through improved public image.
