Tech’s Perot has heart in football

“Think about the things you love and have done for so long and suddenly it’s taken away,” Perot said. “Wouldn’t that be hard to deal with?”

It was shortly after preseason workouts had kicked off and the regular season was only a few weeks away.

Grateful for some perspective

All us adults are too tied up in the physical and spending too little time on the metaphysical at times like this. Even the saintliest among us have trouble losing the self-pity or the competitiveness, and I’ll bring your attention back to reports of trampling deaths at Wal-Mart in far off corners of the U.S. on Black Friday as the shining beacon of evidence that Christmas needs a little saving.
Compound that with our economic situation, and this Christmas seems even less bright.

Reflect on life and be kind this Christmas

Before the merry old elf stops in at your home with his sleigh, take a few moments to discuss the real sentiments behind the season of giving with those you care about. Touch on the importance of keeping it a season of giving and not allowing your holiday to center around getting.
Discuss the advantages you have in no uncertain terms. It is our nature as human beings to become accustomed to our world, and our surroundings can sometimes be lost to us as we press on in our lives.

Roll up your sleeve

“It’s very contagious,” Ovitt said. “You can pick it up just walking through public places, by breathing in the germs.”
Symptoms, which typically last from three-seven days, may include fever, sore throat, chills, fatigue, cough, headache and muscle aches.
These symptoms combined are generally an indication one has the flu, Ovitt said, and the body aches can be widespread.
“It could be body aches in the back, legs, neck and arms and headaches,” she said. “Some people even complain of their hair hurting.”
