Gas thefts fuel investigation

The Lincoln Parish Landfill is owned and operated by the Lincoln Parish Police Jury. Police Jury Administrator Dennis Woodward said gas theft has occurred from the landfill on two separate instances. The first incident involved a gas card being stolen the week of Thanksgiving. The second and most recent incident involved diesel fuel that was siphoned out of company vehicles over a weekend about three or four weeks ago, according to Woodward.

Tech hoopsters: An idle Thursday

But such won’t be the case for Louisiana Tech University’s two teams this week, at least in regards to playing on both of those days.
The Bulldogs (3-15,0-6) and Lady Techsters (9-10, 3-3) will both have tonight off before taking on the University of Hawaii on Saturday.
Tech’s men will be the one doing the traveling, as they will take on the Rainbow Warriors on the islands on Saturday night starting at 11 p.m., CST.

High school students need our support

These teenagers will look to their role models for advice and validation about their options and their final decisions. It’s important for all the people in high school students’ lives to show interest and concern for what they’re going through.
The post-graduation scramble can be eased by advance planning early in a student’s high school career.

Ruston landscape evolves

Stuart Clason, a graduate of the London School of Economics and former campaign consultant for U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, is already formulating plans to fulfill a vision of the city as one of sustainable growth.
In pondering the city’s strengths, Clason points out that Louisiana Tech University is a strong asset.

City gains economic guidance

Clason’s long-term goal for the city is to promote sustainable and positive growth by acting as a coordinator among individuals and organizations, and his short-term goals are to ensure projects provide the biggest effects locally and bring area stakeholders into the development process.
