Hydrologist speaks to Sparta group

“We monitor all users of the aquifers and are funded by pumpage fees assessed to ground water users in the district, based on the amount of water they use,” Dial said. “We currently charge $3.50 per million gallons pumped, and our users pump about 173 million gallons of water per day.”
Dial said his organization does not charge those who use the Mississippi Alluvial Aquifer, or those whose wells are less than 400 feet, those whose wells are not capable of producing more than 50,000 gallons per day or wells used for agriculture purposes.

Boys’ League title on line

It will be the first official postseason tourney crown decided in the league this season, what with championships to be determined for the AAA and Youth divisions early next week.
Bienville Motors revved up its title appearance earlier this week by defeating Community Trust Bank and Green Clinic served up a winning ingredient with a semi-final decision over Kiwanis Club.
Consolation honors in the Boys’ category will be determined starting at 6 p.m. when Kiwanis Club takes on Community Trust Bank.

Join forces to better jamboree

From those with children needing school supplies to those who just want to help others or have fun, the jamboree is an excellent opportunity.
This event has been made possible in the past partially because of community donations and local volunteers. Last year, various members of local organizations such as the Junior Auxiliary, Police Jury, Women of Color and the Lincoln Parish School Board were in attendance, and many acted as volunteers.

Ruston good place to retire

Rounding out that category of the intellectual would be access to the many educational channels received via television and the many educational magazines offered anywhere by regular mail.
As far as housing is concerned, more and more apartments and small houses are being built to accommodate single residents or couples only. A significant number are located near the university campuses with easy access to many of these offerings and activities. More are being built day by day.
