Bulldogs have WAC road woes

That’s four straight losses going into a trek to Logan, Ut., Saturday for a 2 p.m. (CDT) meeting against Utah State.

Parish is wise to invest in fire stations

The state funding for these improvements is due in large part to the support of state Sen. Bob Kostelka, R-Monroe, who has backed the project in Baton Rouge. He deserves credit for pushing an initiative that affects residents where it counts — their safety and their pocketbook.

Farmers seek law renewal

The organizations did state they are encouraged by the announcement that the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry has reached agreement on a framework on budget and policy options. The letter urged the panel’s leaders to schedule a committee mark-up and floor consideration using that panel’s framework agreement as the basis.

North Ruston reshaped

February is the projected completion date. On the other side of I-20, the North Frontage Road will eventually be turned into a one-way going west. A $3 million bridge stretching across I-20 will be built beside Wal-Mart to connect the two one-ways, and a new entrance to Graham Shopping Center will be created for easier access.
Ruston Department of Public Works Director Lewis Love said the projects have been launched primarily to draw more businesses to Lincoln Parish.
