Parish stars in spotlight

“We are adding on to the fun by conducting a youth clinic before the games,” said Jay Butler, representative for the FCA. “The youth clinic will be open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-through-12 and will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m.”
The baseball and softball ‘Game of Honor’ is designed to honor the outstanding student-athlete in the five-parish region covered by the FCA: Lincoln, Jackson, Unioin, Bienville and Claiborne.

Tech students finish latest Habitat home

“I’m ready to move in,” she said. “The kids are ready for their own rooms.”
Austin gave her $500 deposit and put in 300 hours of work that was required for her by Habitat for Humanity, but she said she did not mind at all.
“The students asked me about the ideas. They showed me the designs and asked me to pick one out,” Austin said. “I love this house. Words cannot express how I feel. I have a house where my kids have their own rooms and play areas, and this is something that is my own.”
The project could not have been completed without the assistance of Weyerhaeuser.
