A moment worth forgetting

They happen to everyone.
However, amid a heightening temperature and heart palpitations this is easy to forget.
I had one of those uncomfortable moments last week. It involved a seemingly well-put together show and my one-channel attentiveness.
Louisiana Tech University was presenting a one-act play I had written a story about previously for The Ruston Daily Leader. Being the self-proclaimed aggressive journalist that I am, I decided to watch the play so I could write my column about it this week.
This thoroughly contrived plan, however, has fallen through.

Techsters play host to NMSU

That’s how the Western Athletic Conference leaders and top 25 ranked team have fared against league members who go by that name.
Can they make it four-of-four tonight?
With an earlier 79-72 road win over the same opponent earlier this season and two victories against the Aggies of Utah State (73-56, 88-54), the Lady Techsters (20-4, 12-1) will attempt to keep such success going with a 7 p.m. tipoff against New Mexico State at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Tech considered for possible LSU merger

The proposed plan would basically involve a swap: Louisiana Tech would replace the University of New Orleans in the LSU System, while UNO would take Tech’s place in the University of Louisiana System.
Tech president Dan Reneau said discussions about a merger have been ongoing for about 15 years.
“The idea has been around since the early 1990s,” Reneau said.
Reneau said a recent report by national education consultant Eva Klein and commissioned by LSU considering a merger between LSU-Shreveport and the LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport brought the issue back to light recently.
