Merciers celebrate 50 years of marriage

Edward E. Mercier and Carol Chauff Mercier, of New Orleans, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 17 with a family dinner at 102 a bistro.
The couple were married June 17, 1961. Their children are Mark Mercier and Christine and husband Tommy Hanna.
Their grandchildren are Trey Hanna and Christian Hanna.

Lynchs commemorate 60 years of marriage

Joe and Nancy Lynch, of Ruston, were married June 14, 1951, at the home of the bride on U.S. Highway 80. They then traveled to Mammoth Cave for their honeymoon and to begin their new life together in the National Park Service. After being stationed at many parks around the country and raising their four daughters, the two retired back to Ruston. The couple will commemorate their 60th wedding anniversary by taking a trip to Mammoth Cave with their daughters this fall.

Crumps have 50-year anniversary

Kenny and Shirley Crump, of Ruston, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married June 2, 1961 in Lake Providence. They are celebrating the event with a six-week trip through the western part of the United States. Along the way, they are spending time with each of their three children, starting in Ruston with Faith and Greg Alexander and their children, Dustin and his wife Anna, and Daniel. The next stop on their trip will be Katy, Texas, where they will visit their daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Bruce Bernard, and their children Caleb, Micah and Jacob.

Garretts celebrate 50 years of marriage

The Rev. Doug McGuire witnesses the signing of the certificate of marriage of Pat and Duddy Garrett on June 24, 1961. They will celebrate 50 years of marriage at the beach with their children — Holly and Richie LeBlanc, Jay and Paula Garrett, Lee Garrett, Bess and Chris Decuir, along with their grandchildren — Mary Lloyd and Ben LeBlanc, Kate, Patrick and Libby Garrett, Caroline, Sarah Catherine and Matt Garrett and Garrett, Jack Henry and Carter Decuir.

Mileses celebrate 60 years

Earnest E. Miles, Sr. and Clara W. Miles, of Grambling, celebrated 60 years of marriage June 11 at Log Cabin with family. The two were married June 1, 1951. Their children include Donna Miles, Rodney Billups, the late Wanda Miles, the late Earnest Miles II, the late John Miles and Rita Miles. Their grandchildren include Bridget Billups, Ashley Billups, Chelsea Billups, Earnest Miles III and Kimberley Miles.

DeGrie, Killeen marry in May

Elizabeth Ruth-Anne DeGrie, of Pineville, and Nathan Daniel Killeen, of New Orleans, were married in a 3 p.m. ceremony May 21 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Pineville.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Sherwood Hawthorne.

The bride is the daughter of Earl and Sharon Douzart, of Pineville. She is the granddaughter of Donnie Sober, of Pineville, and the late Ruth Sober.

Carroll, Haymon exchange vows in June 18 ceremony

Millie Claire Carroll, of Ruston, and Jacob Daniel Haymon, of Pineville, were united in holy matrimony in an 11 a.m. ceremony June 18 at Douglas United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Mike Holloway.

Millie is the daughter of Dale and Claire Carroll, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Walter and Miriam Savage, of Ruston, and the late Guy and Josie Carroll.
