Louisiana Tech University had a double-digit hit total and two players to register home runs, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Sacramento State University at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park Sunday afternoon.
First baseman Alex Williams unloaded his ninth homer of the season and outfielder Sam Alvis belted his first round tripper to lead Tech’s 11-hit attack in an 11-6 loss to the Hornets.
The defeat gave Sacramento State (16-16, 2-1) a 2-1 edge in the three-game series. Tech (16-16, 1-2) will be back at its home field Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a non-league contest against Stephen F. Austin University before starting a three-game WAC series at Nevada on Friday.
