Here’s the account of yet another trophy buck bagged during this past deer season, a year that featured some exceptional bucks.)
When a trophy buck crossed Jerry Hester’s lane within minutes of the same time two days in a row, Hester had one eye on his watch and another on his shooting lane on the third day. Incredibly, the buck punched the clock again just as he’d done the previous two mornings.
“The buck showed up at 8:31 on Thursday (December 1); at 8:39 on Friday and I killed him when he walked the same trail Saturday at 8:44,” Hester, owner of Quality Ford in Coushatta recalled.

Irby, Marna.jpg

Where did April go? One Sunday we were celebrating April 1, now this week we’ll be moving on into May.
I partied on Saturday. This year we had a widow’s luncheon instead of a banquet. The only difference was we got home before dark. The party was in the Cottonwood Grand Ballroom, and I had great fun.

Traffic on Interstate 20 was rerouted for about an hour and one man was airlifted following a wreck on Thursday.
Ruston Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Tim Parker said at about 4 p.m., officers were assisting Ruston Fire Department in putting out a vehicle fire on I-20 near Rough Edge Road.
“The officers saw traffic come to a stop just past them,” Parker said. “As they were wrapping up the car fire, a delivery van traveling westbound ran into the rear of an 18-wheeler that had slowed for traffic due to the vehicle fire.”
