New adventure leads to home

Have you ever anticipated something that was to happen in the future — something that meant so much to you, and it did happen? Well, that is what is happening to me. It has to do with my book signings and the trip back home. I’m really excited about it.
I don’t know just how I reached this point, but I am actually going to offer my little book for sale.

Family violence and the holidays

The holidays. What does that phrase bring to mind? For me, it would be sweet family memories, decorating, special recipes and Christmas Eve services at church. It would be the smell of pine, the warmth of a crackling fire and the Christmas songs we grew up singing.
But for a family struggling with domestic violence, the holidays often have a completely different meaning. The disturbing reality is that instead of sugar cookies and candy canes, children of a violent home will more often remember anger and depression. Instead of sweet family moments, they will remember tension and isolation. Instead of holiday music, they will remember shouting and swearing.

Community invited to send ‘Holiday Mail for Heroes’

Now in its sixth year, the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc. have united once again to ensure soldiers stationed both in the United States and around the world will receive heartfelt wishes during the holidays. Last year, the program distributed approximately one million cards to service members, veterans and their families.
