LINCOLN PARISH Waterworks District # 3

LINCOLN PARISH Waterworks District # 3 of Ruston, Louisiana met in a regular meeting on this date. The commissioner's present was, Mr. Jack Allen president, Mr. Randy Snow, Mr. Ralph McVay, Mr. G.W. Kimble and Mr. Willard Anderson. Also present was Mr. Chris Harris, manager. Mr. McVay opened the meeting with prayer. Mr. Allen presented the agenda for adoption. There were no changes to be made to the agenda. Mr. Snow made a motion to adopt the agenda as printed, Mr. Kimble seconded the motion and the motion carried. The next item on the agenda was to approve the minutes from the last meeting.

Fire board debates budget

Heated words were exchanged Monday at the standing-room only budget committee and regular meeting before the Board of Commissioners of the Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 approved a preliminary operational and equipment budget to be published in their official journal.
Jim Hilton, administrative assistant for the LPFD, said the budget will run in the Ruston Daily Leader so that residents can view it. Then, in approximately 10 days, another meeting will be held. The date of that meeting has not yet been set.

Deputy opens fire

Suspect charged with attempted murder after encounter

At approximately 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call for assistance at a residence located just outside of the corporate limits of Simsboro.
According to an LPSO news release, the caller requested help with a family member because he was concerned the subject intended to harm herself. The caller reportedly said the subject was armed with multiple firearms and had locked herself in a bathroom of the residence.
