Creepy sounds in the night

It had to be an intruder. Either that, or something supernatural at work.
I was leaning more toward the first choice, and my husband appeared to be toying with the latter idea.
We had gone to sleep about 30 minutes earlier, and the baby appeared to be deep in slumber in the other room.

In recent weeks, Mitt Romney has tacitly abandoned his strategy of making this election a simple referendum on President Barack Obama’s handling of the economy.
The New York Times reports that “rather than focusing on President Obama, they plan to stress that voters need to make a choice between two men with different visions of the world.”
This means “Mr. Romney intends to hit the White House with a series of arguments — on energy, health care, taxes, spending and a more direct attack on President Obama’s foreign policy record, rather than focusing like a laser beam on jobs and the economy.”

We are off to a great start in kindergarten at Choudrant Elementary School. The students have been learning the rules and routines as well as making lots of new friends. We are busy learning new letters, sounds, popcorn words and numbers each day.

Blue Angels dance line, FFA participate in competitions

Blue Angels Dance Line
The Choudrant High School Blue Angels attended American All-Star Dance Camp in Lafayette this past summer. They earned 13 blue ribbons along with an Outstanding trophy for their home routine performance. They also earned a Superior trophy for their performance of a routine they learned while at camp. They also earned a bid to perform at the National Competition held at Walt Disney World in February.

Pre-K hosts Olympics, students create ‘chain’ of kindness

Pre-K
Cedar Creek Pre-K had an amazing Olympic Week. The classes split into teams on Monday. The teams were Great Britain, China, Mexico and the United States, and students created flags in support for each country. Torches that represented the “Friendship Flame” and flags were displayed in an on-campus parade. In the Olympic Games, pre-K students competed in hula hoops, Olympic hoopla, javelin and the egg and spoon relay.

UNLV, Prairie View coming off of losses

A fellow Western Athletic Conference member of Louisiana Tech University throttled the Bulldogs’ next opponent during action last weekend.
Utah State University , a preseason runner-up pick in the WAC, took a 35-13 win over Nevada-Las Vegas, which will face the ‘Bulldogs at Joe Aillet Stadium on Saturday at 6 p.m.
In other action involving a team that will play a Lincoln Parish opponent on Saturday, Prairie View A&M was a 34-13 victim of Jackson Sate University.

’Dogs have No. 17 ranking

There’s a Top 20 national ranking after all for Louisiana Tech University.
Although the two nationally-recognized polls (USA Today, Associated Press) have them in their Top 35 listings, the Bulldogs have earned a No. 17 ranking from a national college beat writer.
Paul Myerberg of USA Today ranks all 124 members of the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision each week and his current poll has Tech in the Top 20 for the first time.
