Does Mozart make you smarter?

in
ELIZABETH.jpg

In case we’d forgotten that the tests that would determine whether we graduated were looming, my fellow students and I could always tell when we walked into my high school and heard “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” blaring on the intercom.

Whither the GOP establishment?

in
DAVID SHRIBMAN 2.jpg

Against all odds, against all expectations, perhaps even against all reason, the Republican presidential nomination fight is centered in Florida this week and then moves to a hopelessly complex process here in Maine next week. The building, located off of DeVille Lane, has also served as a housing unit for the LPSO’s juvenile offenders, but thanks to new state guidelines, starting March 1, the parish will have to look elsewhere for a place to put any teens causing trouble.
