LSU getting out of the hospital business

LSU leaders are finally saying what political watchers knew back in July when Gov. Bobby Jindal made deep budget cuts to the public hospital system. They're acknowledging the reductions are forcing the university system out of the hospital business.

Bids received after the 2:00 p.m. deadline will be returned to the bidder unopened.

RPAR offers Yoga Classes

The Ruston Parks and Recreation Department offers Yoga for Life at the McLane Recreation Center. Classes are held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. If residents prepay for the month the class is $4 per class. On a drop-in basis the class is $5 per class. Yoga for Life is taught by Donna Ponder. Support Group for those who have lost children available

The Compassionate Friends Northeast Louisiana Chapter is a support group for those who have lost children, grandchildren or siblings. City Hall and Trash Collection Holiday Closure Info

City Hall and the Utility Billing Office will be closed for the Christmas holidays on Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25. Commercial garbage trucks will not run, and there will be no residential garbage and trash collection. Residential garbage pickup for Monday’s route will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 27, and Tuesday’s route will be picked up on Friday, Dec. 28.
