LifeShare Blood Centers is in dire need of blood donations.
During the summertime, donations typically dwindle, said LifeShare blood donor recruiter Stacy Thornton.
“The need for blood increases because of traveling, more boating and car accidents,” Thornton said. “The supply decreases with traveling and fewer people on college campuses.”
Thornton said whereas LifeShare prefers to keep a six-day supply of blood at its centers, right now they are critically low, with between a two-and three-day supply.
