Baby changes, mom’s body does too

At 27 weeks, almost the end of the second trimester, it’s kind of surreal at how fast everything is happening.
It seems only a few weeks ago I was barely showing and couldn’t feel any movement other than the baby knotting up from time to time.
But now it’s a little different. This week, our little champion is weighing in at almost 2 pounds like a head of cauliflower and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended.

Couple arrested on distribution, possession charge

A Texas man and woman were arrested in connection with a large amount of suspected synthetic marijuana over the weekend.
Lt. Tim Parker, public information officer for the Ruston Police Department, said that Heather Rabideau, 27, of Killeen, Texas, was arrested after officers were called to the Super 1 Foods parking lot at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday for a welfare concern.
Witnesses reportedly viewed Rabideau passed out in a 2001 Ford Ranger with Texas license plates. Officers allegedly found the truck in neutral gear with the parking brake engaged and the engine running with Rabideau passed out on the steering wheel.

Dreams of a Big League World Series championship for North Louisiana’s District 5 team were apparently dashed Sunday as a furious comeback attempt was denied.
The host District 1 team from Easley, S.C., took a big early lead and then fought off the attempted rally to take an 11-9 win over District 5 in a 4:14 marathon.
That rally fell just inches short, literally. Shortstop Joe Robbins blasted a shot to deep to left center that would have been a walkoff home run for District 5, but instead the District 1 center fielder caught it at the fence.

Saints making right moves in preseason
SCOTT.jpg

While there are still some loose ends that need to be tied up, it looks to me like the New Orleans Saints have done a solid job of signing new players during the most frenzied free agency period in league history.
Over the next few days I expect those loose ends to be addressed. One of the most important is adding a veteran tight end to pair with second-year player Jimmy Graham. The Saints still need a more experienced receiving talent as Drew Brees loves throwing to his tight ends and the Saints often employ a two TE alignment.
