Dennington, Kidd exchange vows

Angela Dannelle Dennington, of Fouke, Ark., and William Cody Kidd, of Gibsland, were married in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony on May 14 in the Central Christian Church of Texarkana.

The ceremony was officiated by Roy Edwards.

Angela is the daughter of Brian and Pam Dennington, of Fouke, Ark., and the granddaughter of Norm and Ann Massicotte, of Houston, Bob and Debra Embry, of Wake Village, Texas, and Theda Dennington and the late Dan Dennington, of Lewisville, Ark.

Brumett, Johnston married May 7

Letha Diane Johnston, of Albany, Ga., and Brian Theodore Brumett, of Albany, Ga., were married in a 4:30 p.m. ceremony on May 7. Pastor Micky Manning officiated the ceremony.

Letha is the daughter of C. Frank and Marijohn Johnston, of Sylvester, Ga. She is the granddaughter of the late John and Mary Bean and Calvin and Earline Johnston.

Brian is the son of Dale and Leila Brumett, of Ruston. He is the grandson of Clarence and Alice Bullock, Susan Brumett and the late Robert Donald Brumett.

Several local students and other residents had a chance to see the devastation in Tuscaloosa, Ala., firsthand earlier this month.
After seeing the destruction flooding their television screens, Ruston High School softball players Katherine Chisolm and Taylor Atkinson decided they wanted to do something to help.

HONOLULU — Louisiana Tech’s women’s track and field team rallied from fourth to overtake the lead in the second-to-last event of the meet, as the Lady Techsters laid claim to their seventh consecutive title at the Western Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships late Friday in Honolulu. The men’s program finished a solid third with 123 points.

Bush finally shows sign of growth

Maybe old dogs can learn new tricks. Or maybe sometimes people let their emotions rule them before really thinking a situation out.
Either way, it looks like Saints running back Reggie Bush has done a little growing — maturing — in recent days. Over the past three weeks, Bush has appeared to be attempting to do much damage to his relationship with the Saints, the city of New Orleans and the Who Dat Nation with a series of ill-conceived, knee-jerk tweets.
