PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Sitting just blocks from the site of his greatest NFL moment, the lessons taught to him by Dan Marino and Brett Favre among others come rushing through Doug Pederson’s mind as the Philadelphia Eagles’ disappointment of a season winds down.
The unlikely opponent that day when Don Shula set the all-time wins record, then the starting quarterback taking the heat while rookie Donovan McNabb learned the ropes, now he’s the quarterback coach here.

Cedar Creek girls take second win in tournament

Cedar Creek High’s girls won again at the annual Sterlington High Holiday basketball tournament on Wednesday.
The Lady Cougars, who were a 55-43 winner against Farmerville on Tuesday, gained their latest win with a 44-29 finale against Delhi Cahrter.
Pacing the way in the victory was Ruby Richie with 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot. She had scored a season-high 27 points in the win against Farmerville.

Jimmy “Mule Skinner” Mills

Funeral services for Jimmy “Mule Skinner” Mills, age 69 of Dubach will be held Saturday December 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Brother Kenneth Neal and Brother Eddie Ballance will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Simsboro City Cemetery in Simsboro, Louisiana.

Steve Stricklen

Memorial services for Steve Stricklen are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, 703 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas with Vance Reaves officiating.

Mr. Stricklen passed away at the age of 62 on December 27, 2011.
