Yes, it was another loss — make it three in a row now — and yet the barriers of frustration may be loosening just a bit after a one-point (13-12) differential against the University of Southern Mississippi.
“It was another loss, but I was incredibly proud of our players with how hard they fought and the effort they gave against a very good football team,” head coach Sonny Dykes of the Bulldogs said. “It just came down to not making the plays down the stretch. We had some opportunities, too, in the second half to do it.

Grambling stops Prairie View

DALLAS, Texas — Grambling State University sent an early message in the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s Western Division race here Saturday night.
The Tigers (2-1) improved their league mark to 2-0 and maintained a tight hold on to the top spot in their division with a 34-17 victory over Prairie View A&M before 43,754 fans at the annual State Fair Classic at the Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Grambling overcame a 10-7 first quarter deficit to take a 14-10 halftime lead and then sealed the win with six points in the third quarter and two touchdowns in the final quarter.
