It's time for us to part ways

At the risk of sounding self-serving, I didn’t realize until recently that my column, known as “The Wandering Eye,” has a cult following among a few people in Lincoln Parish.
(I use the term “cult” as a figure of speech, not in the literal sense — my followers don’t wear creepy robes. They don’t drink Kool-Aid, and they don’t instigate standoffs with federal agents.)
Strangers stop me in public to say they love this column.

Do not be a target for burglars

Stories show up on the Daily Leader’s front page with startling frequency to remind us that even if nothing bad has happened to us, our community is not immune from the ills of society, despite how hard we all work to make the area a “peach” of a place to live.
Recently, several young men were arrested in connection with a home and several vehicle burglaries.
Capt. Stephen Williams, spokesman for the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, said that all of the cars burglarized were left unlocked with valuables in place.
