Russ-Town Band to play in spirit of giving

The sounds of familiar Christmas tunes will fill the Dixie Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. Friday when the Russ-Town Band performs its annual Christmas concert. David Hedgepeth Interiors is sponsoring the free show that will benefit Christian Community Action and Toys for Tots.

Lincoln Parish Police Jurors convened on Tuesday evening for their last meeting of 2010. Before stepping outside the meeting room to sample the array of holiday snacks, the jurors discussed or took action on several issues, including budgets for various agencies, sewer rates, roadwork and board appointments.
