Just look at what Louisiana Tech and Nevada did by winning last weekend.
They’ve created as good a regular season finale as a Western Athletic Conference fan could ever wish for, almost as if it’s Christmas getting ready to be celebrated on Saturday afternoon at Joe Aillet Stadium.
By defeating San Jose State 45-38 last Saturday, the Bulldogs (5-6, 4-3) put themselves in a position to be bowl eligible.
To do so, they’ll have to get past No. 14 Associated Press nationally ranked Nevada (11-1, 6-1) in Saturday’s 2 p.m. showdown.

Amy Anderson Goertz Merrill

Mrs. Amy Anderson Goertz Merrill died Sunday, November 28, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Merrill was a sales manager. A memorial graveside service will be held 2:30 PM Friday, December 3, 2010 at Black Lake Cemetery, near Campti, with Reverend Mike Welch and Reverend Dan Chance officiating. Survivors include a son, Jordan Goertz of Ruston; daughter, Hannah Ansley Goertz of Ruston; father, John P.

Stone, Binns to marry

 Sheriff Mike and Mrs. Mariam Stone are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching wedding of their daughter Melanie Lois Stone, of Ruston, to Zachary Preston Binns, also of Ruston.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of David and Rae Hammons, of Choudrant, Ethel Stone, of Ruston, and the late George Stone Sr.
Melanie is a 2004 alumna of Ruston High School and a 2008 alumna of Louisiana Tech University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
