Santa Claus was at Railroad Park on Thursday night to take pictures with area children and plans to return again tonight. There were also horse-drawn carriage rides. See more pictures on page 3.

Louisiana Tech University students who feel like they’re having a problem with drugs or alcohol have a readily available resource to help them overcome the issue. Chris Medley is the counselor and coordinator of alcohol and other drug education at Louisiana Tech.

Emerson Centre wins $50K

Program will resume for at least 1 year

Local students and parents will have access to another resource that they lost at the end of the last school year.
The Foundation for the Mid South announced earlier today the two Louisiana grant recipients of the 2010 Foundation for the Mid South Do-Gooders campaign. The nonprofit organizations will receive $50,000 grants to further their efforts to improve lives.

Downtown Ruston rings in the holiday season

Area residents took horse and carriage rides and children told Santa their Christmas wishes on Thursday evening in downtown Ruston. There was also music filling the area surrounding Railroad Park.
