Women have earned their recognition

Other women aren’t afraid to step up and out, sometimes breaking barriers to accomplish what they believe to be right.
All of these women are celebrated during the month of March, Women’s History Month. It’s a time dedicated to recognizing women’s contributions throughout history and to pay tribute to women and their achievements, of which there are many.
There’s no question that Lincoln Parish is filled with women who make a difference.

Co-op the sensible way to go

During a meeting in Farmerville last week concerning the ongoing ordeal Pilgrim’s Pride growers and workers are enduring, Sensley asked that since Gov. Bobby Jindal and the state are willing to fight so hard to try to keep the facility operating, why not try to find a way to ensure such an event doesn’t happen again in the future?
Combined with the money the state is offering, Sensley told a group of growers that he felt forming a co-op would be the way to go.

Grambling: Repeat success?

“It was a great year for us, but we want to achieve more in 2009,” said Anthony, a ferocious charging defensive lineman who earned All-SWAC and All-American honors. “We started off slow last year and took a while to really be consistent. Next year, we want to be good from the start of the season to the end.”
With the winner of the team’s Most Valuable Defensive Lineman award and numerous other key players returning, anything appears to be possible in Tiger Nation.

Ruston High School has new look, feel

“We’re pretty much done, though we have some odds and ends to fix,” RHS Principal Mike Milstead said. “The renovations are great. It’s nice to have a 1938 skin with a 2009 interior.”
